A Memorable Overnight Stay at Houw Hoek Hotel My companion and I stayed overnight at Houw Hoek Hotel on 19 August 2026, and our impressions are based on that visit. Upon arrival at Houw Hoek Hotel, we were warmly received by staff who were genuinely friendly, helpful, and quietly assured. That confidence felt well earned: the quality of the service and amenities was immediately apparent in the exquisite mountain setting, with a sense of history adding to the hotel’s character. Although Houw Hoek Hotel carries a 3-star rating, the care shown by the people who tend this delightful establishment made the experience feel well above that official classification. Our allocated accommodation was spacious, clean, comfortable with tasteful furnishings, which helped make the overnight stay feel relaxed and easy from the start. The culinary delights on offer were another highlight, with the quality of the menu, preparation, and presentation adding real polish to the overall experience. We left feeling that Houw Hoek Hotel is more than a convenient overnight stop. Great family getaway I have used the Houwhoek Hotel Hoek Hotel over the years for business conferences, and more recently have been taking my family there for getaways. Beautiful setting, wonderful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, great food and plenty to do. Perfect for a family holiday. Reasonable rates.

Houw Hoek Hotel We spent the night at Houw Hoek Hotel on the 16th April 2026 to celebrate my 75th birthday. Our experience can only be described as awesome. I was treated as a queen by all the staff. Our dinner was so delicious and plentiful. Breakfast the next morning was a buffet with a great selection of dishes to choose from. My breakfast plate was jummy. I forgot my kindle in the room (which by the way was spotless and comfortable) before we got home, I received a call from the hotel to say they had my kindle and will keep it until I was able to fetch it. Thank you Houw Hoek staff for making my birthday special and one to remember.

Best Hotel and Service A place we will always go back to. From the amazing service to an equally awesome buffet breakfast and all the kid friendly amenities/activities, this is by far one of the best hotels that we have stayed at. The staff are very accommodating and friendly and there is so much to do, especially for the kids to keep busy. The rooms and bathrooms are very neat, spacious and clean and your every need is catered to on request. A beautiful and serene place to just relax and unwind.

It was my first at HHH my family and I only stayed over for 1 day, but was really amazing. The staff is beyond helpful and friendly. The kids had a great time, The rooms are neat and clean. Will definitely go back anytime and have recommended to other people.

Excellent value for money - family stay. ☺The breakfast was wonderful. Family room really comfortable with a small second bedroom attached. Facilities excellent with so much to do for the kids. Beautiful scenery. Best breakaway holiday.

From the booking in to clocking out the staff was exceptional. Cannot do enough to ensure everyone’s needs was met. The rooms were spacious. Loved the carpet in the room. Felt very luxurious. Breakfast was my highlight and supper was phenomenal. Highly recommend this place. Next time I’m also going to have to make use of the dinner dance option!

What a great place to come to. The place is clean and the views are beautiful. The restaurant has a great variety and I would highly recommend the pizza and burgers. There is a conference facility which I have used before which was very good. Nice little pub as well.
We had a one night breakaway for my birthday. There was a complimentary bottle of bubbly chilled in our room. We enjoyed the sun next to the swimming pool and had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant. So much history around the hotel – built in 1779. We visit often.
My wife and I needed a breakaway. It was the best decision to go to Houw Hoek Hotel. Definitely going again. The facilities are exceptional. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and restaurant was great.

We had a lovely get-away weekend. The surroundings are beautiful and the food and setting was great. It is close to Cape Town, and the area offers so many interesting activities.

This is the perfect hotel for a family break. The staff were super accommodating and kind to the children. The games room in the loft proved to be a huge hit as well as the padel court. We ate at the hotel both evenings and were once again so impressed with the food as well as the service.
Absolutely stunning grounds with extremely friendly staff. Went back there after 20 years to where my parents wedding photos were taken.
